Pothole Patch is a specially designed polymer bituminous emulsion and aggregate mixture which is used for the manufacture of delayed-set macadam. The main benefits of this mixture are that it remains very workable and that it will stay in the pothole.

Pothole Patch is ideally suited for all road maintenance work such as pothole repair, trench re- instatement, re-filling core-holes and levelling depressions. Pothole Patch is also ideal for lightly trafficked areas.

Pothole Patch is typically manufactured using a conventional Cold Mix Plant or Paddle Mixer where un-heated aggregate is added directly to the cold mix plant and coated with pothole patch emulsion.

• This process greatly reduces green house gas emissions as the aggregate is not heated as with a typically Hot Mix.


• The emulsion is also applied at lower temperatures, between 50 & 60% less heat is required when compared to heating bitumen.

The aggregate grading conforms with a 2/6mm Gc 85/20 Coarse Aggregate as Specified in Table 2 of IS EN 13043 Aggregates for bituminous mixtures and surface treatments for roads, airfields and other trafficked areas.

APPLICATION & STORAGE:

Cold Chon Pothole Patch is a workable and easy to spread, it does not adhere to spreading tools.

• Prior to filling a pothole remove any debris or water from the pothole.


• Slightly overfill the pothole to allow for compaction of the pothole patch.


• Light rolling or tampering is also advisable to give the pothole patch strength after laying.


• Approximately 25kg/M of Pothole Patch is required to fill to a depth of 1cm.

Pothole Patch can be stockpiled after mixing and still will remain workable. Pothole Patch can either be supplied in bulk or in 25kg buckets. Bucket material can be re-sealed and re-used as needed.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Always wear the appropriate PPE when handling Cold Chon Pothole Patch. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid eating, drinking and smoking when using this product. Wash hands and contaminated areas with water and soap after use.
